Felt making Workshop
So last one in the big stint at the Folk house summer school, felt making. It was quite interesting as most of the group had taken the day off work to come along. I taught a lot of different basic techniques and they all came away with a good range of pieces, most with the intention of working into pieces, or cutting them up to make other things. Some really nice examples of cobweb felt as well (some accidental!)
Applique Purse workshop
Purse making this evening, nice to have a class at a bit more of a relaxed pace, it's been a bit hectic the last few days! Some really lovely purses were made and everyone went away with the intention of making many more! Think I need to come up with some variations on this class as it was very successful, another one happening later in the year (6th Nov)

Sling Bag Workshop
Meant to be a bit more of an advanced sewing class today, following an Amy Butler Sling bag pattern. Though all beginners showed up (including one who had never sewed at all, ever). A really nice pattern, with a few tricky bits, but even so we ploughed through. They all got to the stage where they could again finish it at home. Really lovely fabrics on these.
Apron Making Class
Apron making today at the Folk House summer school. (Nice to see a few familiar faces here as well.) This was a beginners sewing class to make a reversible apron, lots of nice fabric choices. Most people almost got finished, with just a very little bit to do at home, wish I had photos of the finished things, but I have been promised them! Meanwhile have a look at work in progress...

Ongoing felt rug project
This is something I have been working on for a while. Whenever I get a minute (or have to teach felt making), another class on Wednesday so hopefully I'll be able to add a bit then. It will be a rug, at the moment I have about enough to stand on, but not really move about. The horrible bit will be sewing it together!

New Blog
Something I have been meaning to do for ages, so long I can't even remember when the idea came! I wanted to do something that follows a bit more closely what I do, teaching, making, etc, so this will be a bit of a hotch potch of what I'm doing and what takes my eye. Pop back for updates! Julie
