Sewing for Improvers - Applique Purse

Last one for the Summer School this year, phew time to put my feet up, well not really, but at least not spend all my time at the Folk House.
A lot of this group came to the cushion workshop earlier in the week, so had the very basics of sewing already, this time they came to improve their skills, learn how to put in zips, and a bit of decoration with applique and some tried free machine embroidery.

More again on the 5th November £17.75 concessions available http://www.bristolfolkhouse.co.uk/

Recycling Fabrics - new course

Began the new class for 'Recycling Fabrics' last week at the Folk House, this course is always really popular and I can't keep up with the demand. A nice small group this time in the new room (see previous post). We looked at applique and hand-stitch in week one.

In week two we began to look at manipulating fabrics and layering, some examples here.

We did a bit of cut work and free machine embroidery samples as well.... I put these here to remind myself that I want to make some cushions using this techniques for my maybe / potential, new house.

Applique Purse workshop

Purse making this evening, nice to have a class at a bit more of a relaxed pace, it's been a bit hectic the last few days! Some really lovely purses were made and everyone went away with the intention of making many more! Think I need to come up with some variations on this class as it was very successful, another one happening later in the year (6th Nov)

T- shirt applique

Been meaning to make some t-shirts for Craig for ages, these were the recent results... not sure he knew what to make of them... they double up as applique examples for an upcoming class as well. Handy hey.
