Getting to know your sewing machine

Another one as part of the Folk House Summer School, this time learning how to use a sewing machine and making simple cushion cover to practice the skills. This included pattern cutting, sewing straight lines and button holes! Next class is 5th November at the Folk House, contact them for details.

Cushion making workshop

Cushions with zips made be a group of friends who are all learning to sew or improve their skills, just a few here, I did not manage to get photos of them all which is a shame, but have a peak at these ones.

I am doing some more learning to sew classes at my studio in March:

Cut work Cushions

A little while ago I made these cushions as a present for someone who doesn't really like any colour in a room, their request was black and white. I have used layers of fabrics from sample books and then covered in black and cut through the various layers after stitching to give a textured effect.Of course the cat has to get in on the act...
